Confirm potable compatibility

Not every waterproofing coat is suitable for drinking water. Roof membranes, basement slurries, and decorative coatings may leach or simply lack potable certification.

Specify linings designed for potable contact after full cure, and keep the certificate with the project file. For non-potable fire or process water, still confirm chemical compatibility with the stored medium — “waterproof” is not the same as “suitable for this tank.”

Surface prep for tanks means sound, clean, profiled concrete free of curing compounds and biological growth. Prime as specified, then apply coats to the required DFT, reinforcing corners and penetrations.

Work in ventilated conditions within the temperature and humidity window. Record batches and film thickness checks — tank work is hard to revisit once the chamber is back in service.
